Of all the artworks we’ve researched, one mixed-media work stands alone as the only found object painting among all the paintings and drawings published within the Secret Art of Dr. Seuss collection. The original painting, “View from a Window of a Rented Beach Cottage,” was idiosyncratically framed by Dr. Seuss using one of his most creative found objects of all time—an antiqued window frame with a functioning hinge and screen.
