"An artist’s job is more than creating captivating imagery. They must also convey the excitement and inspiration they feel about a subject in a way that allows us to find meaning. As collectors, if we “listen” closely, not only can we find meaning, but we can begin to see our world anew. That is the true magic of art, and the true talent of Ted Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss."

LOST AND FOUND
In 2013, Ted’s wife Audrey discovered a long-overlooked box in her La Jolla home. It contained two unpublished books. One was an early concept for Ted’s Dr. Seuss’s Horse Museum, an inventive story revealing the true nature of art and its power to inspire and affect our lives.
This newest Capsule Release features a circa 1950’s sketch conceived by Ted for this unrealized project. It is one of the only fully developed drawings he made, offering collectors a rare piece of Dr. Seuss history. For admirers of Dr. Seuss, this artwork stands as both a collectible treasure and a lasting symbol of his inventive spirit.
(NOTE: After being tucked away for nearly six decades, Random House Publishing completed the project in 2019 with final illustrations by Andrew Joyner).

So this begs the question, what are you saying about yourself and is it worth saying?
If you answered “yes” to any of the above, then this new work may be the perfect foundation to the collection you’ve already begun… or the one you plan to start!
Our Capsule Releases are bespoke, intimate editions of highly rare works. The first release from this collection, That Vug Under the Rug, sold out in just 3 days.
This newest piece speaks to the core of the entire Art of Dr. Seuss Collection – discovery. While many of the most collected images are familiar to us, we continue to discover new works that allow us a behind-the-scenes look into the mind of this 20th century artistic icon.
